founder Brian Button got his start pushing a broom.

At age 14, in the sweltering Northern California summers, he spent 12-hour days sweeping a dusty shop floor. His dad called it work ethic; Brian had a few other words for it (none he’d repeat here).

That same year, watching Big Game commercials—from FedEx to Pepsi—lit a spark in him. “You can make money by coming up with ideas?” This lightbulb moment inspired Brian to pursue a career in creative. After training at the Art Institute of CA (San Diego) and Miami Ad School (SF), he swapped the beat up broom for a brand new laptop, working as a creative director on brands like Armor All, Clorox, Google, Taco Bell, and YouTube at top agencies like AKQA, DDB, and Digitas.

He then transitioned client-side with companies like Lyft, DoorDash, and Instacart, where he got to influence, shape, and scale each of those brands. Looking back, that was the work he enjoyed most: working alongside founders, entrepreneurs, CMOs, marketers, and creatives to build a brand.

It was those experiences that inspired him to start Brian Button Consulting, where he brings big-brand expertise to help small and medium-sized businesses clarify their message, connect authentically with customers, and grow with confidence.

Brian Button regretting to inform his old man that he won’t be returning this summer to sweep the shop.
